Pants, T-shirts, jackets, sweaters, underwear, etc. must be clearly sorted and stored in a textile-safe manner. In closets you can store everything neatly on hangers, in compartments and drawers - and quickly find what you need to wear.
What characterizes a wardrobe and where should it be located?
Wardrobes should provide ample storage space for wardrobe, shoes, bedding, underwear and accessories.
If space is limited in your home, a compact design will be an advantage.
At a minimum, this piece of furniture should have a rod for hanging hangers, several compartments and a drawer so that everything can be neatly stored.
In many families, the wardrobe is located in the bedroom because this is where you usually get dressed and undressed, and there are always things that are always at hand.
Wardrobes with their systematic division also serve well in other rooms, for example for storing bulky winter clothes, rarely used sports equipment such as ski equipment or wetsuits, bed linen, towels and home textiles.
Some models can be used as partitions to provide privacy in the bedroom and other rooms, such as a hobby room that doubles as a guest room.
Wardrobe for one family
If you need a closet for one person and have limited living space, a closet with sliding or sliding doors is the way to go. With a width of 150 to 200 cm, a depth of 50 to 60 cm and a height of 170 to 180 cm, this cabinet offers ample storage space. If you have more space in the front, you can choose a double door cabinet with a revolving door. If you want to make the most of the height of the room, a model with a height of 200 to 220 cm is ideal.
Wardrobe for 2 people
For couples, we recommend a three- or four-door wardrobe with a revolving door between 200 and 250 cm wide. Since the doors can be opened individually, both people can gain access to the interior at the same time. Models with the most flexible internal layout meet different requirements.
Wardrobe for the whole family
As a rule, the closet in the parents' bedroom should contain not only their own things, but also a lot of bed linen, baby blankets and home textiles. Four or five door sliding door wardrobes with a revolving door or models with sliding and sliding doors ranging from 300 to 400 cm wide are suitable for this. If the space required is particularly large, corner wardrobes and wardrobe systems can be used - up to 600 cm wide they also offer space for spacious sleeping space for a family of four.
7 tips: In what order should you assemble your wardrobe?
First, think about how you want to furnish your bedroom and where best to place your wardrobe. Make sure there is always enough room to pass.
For cabinets with hinged doors, plan enough space to allow the doors to open wide. Also make sure that the cabinet is not placed too close to the window, and in models with a mirrored facade, that daylight does not dazzle.
You can build a small wardrobe yourself. For larger models, it is best to involve a second person.
To make work easier, use a cordless screwdriver and charge it in a timely manner.
Read the instructions carefully and then arrange the materials in the order shown. This will save you from long searches.
The doors and side panels can be laid out on a soft wool blanket without scratching them.
Save the assembly instructions so you can simply reverse the order if you ever want to take the cabinet apart!
